Has Anyone Tried Yoga?
by Eyebrow ini have been considering learning yoga for a few years now, but i am not sure how to go about it.
i don't really have the money for a class right now, and most of the books i have found are either extremely expensive or not really for beginners.
can anyone make any suggestions?

yoga is breathing and stretching that is all, nothing "demonic" or "spiritual" about it
it helps you get in tune with yourself and your body and it is only as much of a religious experience as you allow it to be, meaning if you do it religiously (read on a regular basis) that is it you won't get possessed really. . . .
ps check out a ymca in your area chances are they may have classes there they do in my area it is usually less expensive than most gyms and if you are a member the classes are free,
that is of course if you feel comfortable going into a ymcadc

What is the real meaning of life?
by Nicolas ini mean, if we have been created by the evolution then, our life really have no purpose.
we live about 80 years and then we die and it's finish.
it seem really dull to me.

Tattoo You?
by SixofNine indon't take this as any kind of condemnation; it's just a question.
i'm curious about what the tattooed among us think.
why are you confident that you will be glad you have your tattoo ten or twenty years from now?
-
DCs Ghost
hey tattoo
should be fairly simple
scan your pic and label it (name it) in a file and add .jpg to it if you are on a pc and want other pc users to see it,
(mac will read just about anything without a label)
once you have it in the system then goto the site harmony put up so you can create a url for it
once you have the url put it in the message box where you reply and it should post. . .good luck

i'm completely confident i won't regret it for several reasons,
it was not an impulse decision,
and i did not get my ink to follow a trend,
the artist that did mine was excellent with any medium(oils, acrylics, pencils, ink), you gave him, so to pass him up would have been to pass-up an opportunity of a lifetime, and the way i saw it prior to seeing his work i was not interested, it was after seeing his quality and many of his works that i said it is him or no one, though, i have come to meet other artists in the last few years that are equally as talented,
i got my tattoo with the intention of expanding on it, throughout the years by either adding color or other images to it that would follow a theme,
i feel that getting one as a fashion statement is the worst reason to get one, mine has a meaning behind it besides that i obviously like dragons,
the borg had absolutely nothing to do with my decision, and to answer your question, should you get one?
ink is a personal choice,
do it because you feel it is going to express something about you, or because it holds some meaning to you,
but don't do it if you think it will make you seem cool, because it will show right through, and if you decide to do it keep in mind that there is a bug called the ink bug that causes many who get one to go back and get another, so keep that in mind, cause once the bug bites you are hooked,
i personally have a thing for continuity it shows that you thought it out before going through with itone more thing the difference between people with tats and people without, is that we don't care if you have one or not, it is all good regardless. . .

Duns, et al, Free Will Vs. Determinism
by larc inwhat is your opinion on free will versus determinism?
my feeling on the subject is pretty schizophrenic.
as a person, i believe in free will.
-
DCs Ghost
hey Larc thanks for responding,
you mentioned 5 themes that i had touched on so for simplicity i will answer to one at a time as to keep focus. . .some of our behavior is also due to the culture and the unique subculture you are born into
i totally agree with you on this, so far as to it being one of the triggers that started me questioning the borg,
i believe that our behavior may be influenced by culture to a certain degree, but does that mean that our behavior and our will are synonymous?granted that our culture can influence us into thinking a certain way and guiding our values into a certain direction, in as much as almost choosing our spiritual path, and may even set our moral parameters within our views, as well can influences do the same, but even then no one really doesn't do anything that they don't want to do in as far as being influenced, we can succumb to the pressure of influence, but in the end it is our choice and our reasons from which we act. . .
but what about those that break away from tradition, and look beyond their immediate surroundings in order to find answers or experiences unavailable within the circle of the community and culture/sub that they are in?
will or nature?
is that urge to explore beyond the immediate an ingrained thought process, or is it learned?
if it is ingrained then perhaps it is natures way of evolving the species, most inventors/revolutionaries went against the grain of common thought and explored outside their immediate surroundings, thus causing change, is this common link a choice of will, or a preset of nature
is this the trigger for rebellion or the trigger for knowledge,if it is learned this could be subject to a number of theories, but if it is preset then there is no will, simply chaos and chance order within disorder,
i believe it is the hindus that believe that before we come to earth we choose our parents, social status, destiny etc, a choice made in the pre-life in order to learn certain lessons and experience certain situations, of course this is open for discussion and highly arguable but it holds the premise of free will in the sense that it allows the soul to choose its course in order to evolve into nirvana. . .
